In this role, I design belts and handbags for established fashion companies through licensing agreements. I lead a team of designers and foster their creative abilities. I also teach them to designing function into the product, create accurate tech packs, spec hardware, and build cohesive & marketable collections.
Freelance Senior Handbag Designer. September 2016 - Present. In this role, I conceptualize, build color palettes, mood boards, sketch, and create tech packs for seasonal handbag lines. This involves designing SLG’ s, scarves, and creating prints. I have designed for the socially conscious company Noonday Collection, and Boutique Mexico, which sells their bags in Anthropologie.
Tory Burch. New York, NY. January 2015 – October 2016. Designer of Hardware. Responsibilities included working with Handbag, Shoe and Ready-to-Wear Designers on hardware developments. Responsible for 3D printing and modeling designs to successfully proto-type hardware before sampling and production. Hardware materials include metal, stones, resin, wood, and silicone. In this role, I was also responsible for sketching, concepting and developing tech products for the brand.
Coach. New York, NY. July 2009 – January 2015. Designer of Small Leather Goods. Responsibilities included sketching new silhouettes, designing new hardware, and providing technical specs and drawings. I created mood boards, fabric manipulations, and innovative details to correlate with each season’ s message. Teamwork, management and delegation were large parts of my job.
Project Theodore. New York, NY. January 08-Sept 2013. Designer and Business Owner. Luxury Teddy Bear business. Responsibilities included sourcing materials, designing and producing bears, creating press kits, meeting with buyers, and maintaining the website. Actively seeking out sale opportunities and increased exposure. The bears were sold in small boutiques, where I managed inventory, returns and gathered customer feedback directly.
